KDMC Suspends Two Staffers Over Failure to Enforce Anti-Hawker Drive Near Dombivli Railway Station

Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) suspended two employees, Kamalakar Sonawane and Ravi Barve of J Ward, for negligence in enforcing anti-hawker measures.

Illegal hawkers continued to operate in the 'No Hawker Zone' around Dombivli railway station despite a civic drive against encroachments.

Mayor Harshali Choudhary and Municipal Commissioner Abhinav Goel had ordered strict implementation of anti-hawker measures after public complaints about pedestrian obstruction and traffic congestion.

J Ward Assistant Municipal Commissioner Jayaram Shinde confirmed the suspension and warned of similar action against negligent staff.

The administration has a zero-tolerance approach and will continue the anti-encroachment drive to keep public spaces encroachment-free.
