Jammu and Kashmir: Government clears funds for pellet survivor Insha’s gas agency after 8-year wait
The Jammu and Kashmir government approved ₹41.16 lakh for a gas agency promised to pellet gun survivor Insha Mushtaq in 2016.
Insha Mushtaq lost her eyesight at age 14 during protests on July 12, 2016, when a pellet gun struck her in Sedow village, Shopian.
The rehabilitation pledge had been frozen since the fall of the PDP-BJP government in 2018.
Insha learned Braille, mobility skills, and computer applications, and is pursuing a bachelor's degree through Ignou.
Minister Satish Sharma confirmed the approval, stating, 'Justice delayed but not denied.'
