Nitesh Tiwari on why he chose two part format for Ranbir starrer 'Ramayana'

Director Nitesh Tiwari is adapting the 'Ramayana' into two feature films starring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, and Sai Pallavi.

Tiwari says the first part ends on a cliffhanger designed to make audiences want to watch Part Two immediately.

The two-part format was driven by storytelling needs, not commercial considerations, as the epic 'cannot be told in one part'.

The film aims to combine modern cutting-edge execution with the emotional essence of relationships from the original epic.

'Ramayana Part One' is set for a Diwali 2026 release, and 'Ramayana Part Two' for Diwali 2027.
