Vihari questions selectors' backing of Abhishek over Samson

Former Indian cricketer Hanuma Vihari questioned Team India's continued backing of Abhishek Sharma despite poor T20I form, arguing Sanju Samson was dropped after fewer failures.

Vihari noted Samson was dropped before the T20 World Cup after five poor games but returned to become Player of the Tournament with three consecutive fifties.

Abhishek Sharma has managed only one fifty in his last eight innings and a highest score of 16 in five matches of the current series, per Vihari.

Vihari accused selectors of applying different standards, citing that Samson lost his place despite match-winning performances while Abhishek retains his spot.

Vihari urged selectors to judge both players by the same standards, highlighting that Samson has also performed in the IPL.
