Brynn Carnesecca, Miss American Fork 2024 and journalist, died by suicide at 21 on Sunday, as confirmed by her mother Michele Carnesecca.
A candlelight vigil was held on Tuesday, July 28, in American Fork, Utah, to honor her life and legacy.
Carnesecca won the Miss American Fork title in 2024 and received the Miss Congeniality Award at the Miss Utah competition in 2025.
She was set to compete in the Miss Provo pageant on August 22 and founded Envelopes of Hope in 2024, connecting local community with incarcerated individuals.
Utah Miss Amazing, an organization for young women with disabilities, issued a statement praising Carnesecca's kindness and impact.
