Union home minister Amit Shah inspected an indigenous radio-based fence breach detection system along the India-Bangladesh border in West Bengal.
The system instantly alerts Border Security Force personnel when the border fence is tampered with.
Shah also reviewed an infrared alarm system for riverine stretches and gaps in border fencing.
He unveiled three BSF projects during the visit.
Shah stated the government pursues a zero-tolerance policy against smuggling and infiltration in border areas, and a quadrilateral security grid will make the border completely secure.
