Franchise makeover for Sher-e-Punjab T20 league, Gill, Abhishek and Arshdeep among marquee stars

The Sher-e-Punjab T20 League has been revamped into a franchise-based competition with six teams representing Mohali, Amritsar, Fazilka, Ludhiana, Jalandhar and Bathinda.

Marquee players include India captain Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma, Arshdeep Singh, Ramandeep Singh, Prabhsimran Singh and Gurnoor Brar.

The tournament runs from August 30 to September 13, with the player auction on August 9.

All matches will be held at the PCA New Chandigarh Stadium, with two games per day and free entry.

PCA president Amarjeet Mehta said the franchise model aims to make the league more competitive and commercially stronger.
