Gen Z outreach: PM Modi asks ministers to shore up presence on Insta

PM Modi asked his Cabinet ministers to increase their activity on Instagram to better connect with Gen Z, during a meeting after the Cabinet meeting on Friday.

Modi's midnight Instagram post on Thursday received 305 million views, and his Friday video garnered 9.3 million views within minutes.

Modi has been using Instagram since 2014 and urged ministers to hold interactive sessions with youth on the platform.

The advice comes as BJP risks losing advantage in Gen Z outreach, who prefer Instagram over WhatsApp for photo and short-form video content.

Modi's announcement of the tougher anti-paper leak law on Instagram earned him around 1 million new followers.
