Ludhiana: Students seek fair probe into ‘cheating racket’

Students in Ludhiana protested outside the Verka Milk Plant on Friday, demanding a fair investigation into an alleged cheating racket in the pharmacy officer recruitment exam.

The exam was conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences for Punjab's health department on July 19 for 454 posts at 25 centres in Faridkot, Kotkapura, and Ferozepur.

Punjab Police arrested 31 people, including 21 candidates and 10 handlers, for allegedly using pen cameras, wireless earpieces, and modified mobile phones to cheat.

Protesters urged the Punjab government to conduct an impartial inquiry and take strict action, saying paper leaks undermine exam credibility.

They demanded stronger safeguards against paper leaks and unfair practices to ensure a level playing field for all candidates.
