Pune Police recover ₹80.27 lakh in cyber fraud cases in a month

Pune City Cyber Police recovered ₹80.27 lakh for victims and resolved 2,538 cyber fraud complaints in July 2026 using the Money Restoration Module (MRM).
The MRM, developed under the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP), enables police to coordinate with banks to freeze fraudulent transactions and expedite refunds.
Since July 1, 2026, Pune Police registered 27 E-Zero FIRs, allowing victims of cyber fraud over ₹5 lakh to file complaints without jurisdictional hurdles.
Pune Police removed 845 objectionable posts/malicious links via the Sahyog portal and processed 1,751 CIAR requests from other states, sending 1,982, with 1,298 complied with.
Police registered 132 cases against 'mule' bank accounts used in cyber fraud, based on intelligence from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C).
