Eric Bieniemy's son uses wheelchair; wife Mia unharmed in shooting

Mia Bieniemy, 57, wife of Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, was allegedly shot at their Virginia home on Sunday night.

Mia Bieniemy is a private caregiver for her son Eric III, 30, who has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair.

Loudoun County Police responded to the incident at 7:32 p.m. ET; one person was hospitalized with serious injuries.

The Kansas City Chiefs acknowledged the incident involving Eric Bieniemy's family but declined further comment out of respect for privacy.

Eric Bieniemy attended the team's training camp in Missouri earlier on Sunday before the shooting.
