Rajesh Kannur, 27, a physically disabled cricketer, will represent India in a T20 tournament in England from Aug 5 to 19.
Kannur is the first Indian Physical Disability cricketer to score a century in a multinational tournament, with 119 runs in 65 balls against England in the PD Champion Trophy in Sri Lanka in 2025.
He has scored five half-centuries in eight matches against Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia, and England in the same trophy.
Kannur lives in a hut without electricity in Vijayapura and juggles cricket with rag-picking to survive.
The Differently-abled Cricket Council of India (DCCI), not yet recognized by BCCI, covers only international travel costs, leaving Kannur struggling to afford a proper cricket kit.
