Fake identities, phone numbers: How 5 men impersonated deceased owners in ₹2.29 crore land fraud in Navi Mumbai

Five people led by Suraj Vasudev Shinde arrested for impersonating deceased owners Nathan Eliyahu Chincholkar and Shalom (Selim) Eliyahu Chincholkar to sell a plot in Karanjade, Navi Mumbai, for ₹2.29 crore.

Shinde's father and brother-in-law used fake identity documents to pose as the dead brothers, and the group changed phone numbers and hideouts to evade police for five months.

Shinde was tracked to Thivim, Goa, using technical surveillance and arrested with uncle Satish Namdev Shinde and cousin Tejas Pramod Surve; Manish More was already in custody, and Vasudev Shinde was arrested from Dombivli.

Police recovered forged PAN and Aadhaar cards in the names of the deceased landowners after the arrests.
