Russia adds Telegram founder Pavel Durov to 'terrorists and extremists' blacklist

Russia added Telegram founder Pavel Durov to a blacklist of 'terrorists and extremists'.

Those on the list are banned from conducting transactions inside Russia.

The FSB had launched international search proceedings for Durov, accusing Telegram of failing to remove a dating bot used by Ukrainian intelligence.

Durov has frequently clashed with Russian authorities over Telegram's encryption and user data.

Durov has also faced legal issues in France for distribution of illegal content.
