Central Railway Hill Gang Removes Massive Loose Boulder In Thull Ghat, Averts Threat To Train Operations

in5points
Central Railway's hill gang removed a 3.9-metre loose boulder in Thull Ghat between Kasara and Igatpuri.
The boulder was hanging about 15 metres above the track and posed a risk to trains.
Removal was done during a scheduled traffic and power block using specialized equipment.
The boulder was broken and cleared with a Poclain breaker on the Boulder Special Train.
Regular inspections after heavy rain help prevent landslides and loose rocks in the ghat sections.
