India’s leading Metal Producer Hits 52-Week High After Aluminium Foil Plant Begins Commercial Production; Company Market Cap Approaches ₹30,000 Crore

Shyam Metalics and Energy Ltd shares rose 2% on July 16, 2026, after announcing commercial production at its aluminium foil plant in Sambalpur, Odisha.
The aluminium foil facility has an installed capacity of 18,000 tonnes per annum, producing foils with thickness from 6 to 40 microns.
The plant is part of Shyam Metalics' Rs 800 crore aluminium expansion project, which also includes an Aluminium Flat Rolled Products (FRP) facility expected to start commercial production by September 2026.
The aluminium expansion aims to diversify Shyam Metalics' product portfolio beyond steel and ferro alloys, and is expected to increase operating margins by 40-50% through improved product mix.
Shyam Metalics' market capitalisation approached Rs 30,000 crore after the stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 1,059.00.
