Thousands of rubber ducks raced through a London canal to raise money for critically ill children, turning a charity event into a colourful spectacle

The annual Cosmic Rubber Duck Race took place at Paddington Basin on the Grand Union Canal in London.

Up to 3,000 numbered rubber ducks were released and floated 100 metres to the finish line.

Cosmic, a UK charity, organized the event to support babies and children in intensive care.

Funds raised will support specialist equipment, family services, medical research, and staff training.

The race is held at Merchant Square, with proceeds benefiting St Mary's Hospital and Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital.
