Delhi's Connaught Place advised to shut early, CJP doubts move: 'What's the government up to?'

  1. New Delhi Traders Association (NDTA) advised shops, offices, and restaurants in Connaught Place to shut from 6:30 pm on Thursday as a precautionary measure.

  2. The advisory was issued following telephonic advice from the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) chairperson and vice-chairperson due to the "critical situation" around Connaught Place amid the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP)-led protest.

  3. CJP and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) questioned the government's decision, with CJP asking "What does the government want to do??" and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal raising concerns about security and potential attacks on students.

  4. The NDTA requested all commercial establishments to comply to avoid untoward incidents, loss of property, or injury.
