Himachal to more than double PG medical seats

Himachal Pradesh government proposes increasing PG medical seats from 277 to 597 in government colleges.
Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) in Shimla will see seats rise from 139 to 230, and Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College in Tanda from 99 to 156.
Other colleges: Mandi from 24 to 79, Hamirpur from 8 to 65, Nahan from 3 to 35, and Chamba from 4 to 32.
Government created 218 posts for senior residents and tutor specialists to support the expansion.
Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu aims to develop Himachal Pradesh as a medical education hub.
