Nearly half of Karnataka’s schools remain offline, state lags national average

Of Karnataka's 48,527 government schools, only 37.1% have internet facilities, far below the national average of 63.1% for government schools.

Private unaided schools in Karnataka lead with 84.4% internet connectivity, exceeding the national average of 79.2%.

Karnataka lags behind southern neighbours: Tamil Nadu (99%), Andhra Pradesh (99.2%), Kerala (92.6%), and Telangana (76.5%) have higher school internet coverage.

Nearly 36,000 schools in Karnataka remain without internet connectivity, based on UDISE+ 2025–26 data.
