60 venomous snakes, cocaine, guns and 22,000 dollars in cash seized during New Mexico drug raid

Federal agents seized 60 venomous snakes, half a pound of cocaine, three firearms, and $22,000 in cash during a raid in South Valley, New Mexico.

The snakes included cobras, mambas, pit vipers, pythons, and an inland taipan, one of the world's most venomous snakes.

The inland taipan is the biggest concern because New Mexico hospitals lack the specialized antivenom to treat bites.

The snakes were transferred to a licensed facility, and officials will find permanent homes capable of housing venomous reptiles.

The raid was part of a federal investigation into cocaine distribution.
