Pralhad Venkatesh Joshi is named as India's new Union education minister.
Joshi is a five-time BJP MP from Karnataka and has been in PM Narendra Modi's Cabinet since 2019.
He previously handled portfolios of parliamentary affairs, coal and mines (2019-2024), and currently retains consumer affairs, food and public distribution, and new and renewable energy.
As parliamentary affairs minister, he oversaw passage of Article 370 abrogation and the Women's Reservation Bill.
