Sabarimala gold loss case probe continuing very slowly; govt unhappy: Minister Muraleedharan

Kerala Devaswom Minister K Muraleedharan said the probe into the Sabarimala gold loss case is continuing at a very slow pace and the government is dissatisfied.

Muraleedharan stated that arrests are being made but a chargesheet has not yet been filed; if not filed by end of July, the government will convey its dissatisfaction to the Kerala High Court.

Former Travancore Devaswom Board president P S Prasanth was taken into custody in connection with the case; Prasanth claimed the action was politically motivated.

Muraleedharan said the government has not intervened in the SIT probe but has conveyed dissatisfaction with the slow pace.

The SIT is probing two cases related to alleged loss of gold from Dwarapalaka idols and doorframes of the Sreekovil at Sabarimala temple after they were taken for electroplating in 2019.
