Not MS Dhoni, Moeen Ali names former India fast bowler as sharpest cricket brain
Former England all-rounder Moeen Ali named former India fast bowler and Gujarat Titans head coach Ashish Nehra as the sharpest cricketing mind he has worked with, ahead of MS Dhoni.
Moeen based his assessment on his time with Nehra at Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) during the 2018 and 2019 IPL seasons.
Nehra became Gujarat Titans' head coach in 2022 and led them to the IPL title in their debut season, becoming the first Indian head coach to win the IPL.
Under Nehra, Gujarat Titans have missed the playoffs only once in five seasons, despite often not being considered favorites.
