NCB Mumbai Seizes 11 Kg Ephedrine Worth ₹5 Crore, Busts International Courier Trafficking Network

NCB Mumbai seized 10.990 kg of ephedrine valued at Rs 5 crore from three courier parcels destined for New Zealand.

The drug was concealed inside floor mats, cloth rolls, bedsheets, and photo frames in parcels booked with forged documents.

One suspect, S. Hameed, was arrested in Chennai on July 23 and brought to Mumbai; further investigation is tracing the ephedrine source and other associates.

Ephedrine, a controlled substance with limited medical use, is misused to illegally manufacture methamphetamine, a highly addictive neurotoxin.
