University of Delhi increased seats in one-year PG programmes, with M.A. English, History, Philosophy, Political Science, M.Sc Mathematics, and M.Com rising from 45 to 126 seats.
M.A. Economics seats increased from 40 to 126; M.Sc Statistics from 29 to 54; psychology from 34 to 63; chemistry from 45 to 63.
DU teachers, including Miranda House professor Abha Dev Habib, flagged infrastructure and human resource shortages, warning of skewed student-teacher ratios.
The increase follows a committee formed on July 17 to examine seat expansion after requests from departments, and students welcomed it but some called for further increases.
