Suni Lee returning to gymnastics: American star eyes third Olympics at 2028 LA games

Suni Lee, 2020 Olympic all-around champion and six-time medalist, announced her return to elite gymnastics training on Instagram with the caption 'I am back'.

Lee is eyeing a third Olympic appearance at the 2028 Los Angeles Games, joining fellow 2024 gold medalist Jade Carey in signaling plans for the home Olympics.

She overcame kidney disease to compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics, helping the US women win team gold and adding individual bronze in all-around and uneven bars.

Her return strengthens the US gymnastics team outlook for 2028, the first Summer Olympics on home soil since 1996.
