Dumka engineering students' water-cleaning robot to debut at Basukinath Dham

Five final-year BTech students at Dumka Engineering College developed an autonomous water-cleaning robot named 'Nature's Revival Bot – Autonomous Water Cleaning Robot'.

The robot will debut during the Shravani Mela at Shiv Ganga pond in Basukinath Dham, starting July 30, 2026.

It uses a motor-driven track-belt conveyor system to collect floating garbage such as plastic bottles, polythene bags, and clothes into a net-covered bucket.

The robot runs on a 48-volt hybrid battery system (lithium-ion and lead-acid) providing up to 20 hours of operation, with a cleaning capacity of about 8 square feet per minute and a 1 km operating range.

It is equipped with a Brushless Direct Current hub motor for propulsion, a gear motor for the conveyor belt, and a servo motor for steering, plus a photoelectric sensor to avoid collisions.
