Bengaluru police arrest gunrunner, seize pistol factory

Central Crime Branch arrested Janjir alias Dinesh Patidar from Madhya Pradesh for illegally manufacturing and selling country-made pistols.

Patidar's house in Singhana, Dhar district served as an illegal pistol manufacturing unit; materials were seized.

The arrest followed a chain: a Bengaluru businessman bought a pistol from Patidar via two agents, leading to the agents' arrest and then Patidar.

Earlier, Syed Masood bought a country-made pistol for Rs 45,000 due to fear over a love affair; Javed Alam was arrested while delivering the weapon.

Patidar went into hiding after being identified but returned to resume manufacturing and was caught with a court warrant.
