J&K: Jammu-Srinagar highway to be shut on July 31 for repair work

Authorities will shut the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) on July 31, 2026, for emergency repairs by NHAI.

Prolonged heavy rain caused heavy damage to the road in Udhampur and Ramban, necessitating the closure.

Commuters have been advised to avoid travel on the highway on that day.

Repair work is also continuing on the landslide-hit Ramban-Gool road.

Security has been heightened for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra.
