Ludhiana: Transporter alleges abduction, extortion bid, 8 booked

A transporter from Abohar, Vikram Sharma, alleged abduction and extortion by eight persons.

The Sarabha Nagar police registered an FIR against Raunak Singh Jamwal, Prena Jamwal, Divya Singh Jamwal, Shiv Krishan Sehgal, and four unidentified armed men.

The accused allegedly lured Sharma to a secluded spot, held him at gunpoint, and demanded a ransom of ₹20 lakh.

Sharma had earlier filed a cheating case of ₹3.22 crore against some of the accused in October 2025.

The accused threatened to kill Sharma and his family if he did not withdraw the fraud case and pay the ransom.
