Punjab got ₹13L under PM minority welfare scheme in 2025-26: Govt in RS

Punjab received only ₹13 lakh under Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) in 2025-26, down from ₹104.58 crore in 2022-23.

Union minister Kiren Rijiju told Rajya Sabha the scheme is demand-driven with no state-wise allocation; funds release depends on eligible project proposals from states.

No funds were released under PMJVK to Punjab in fiscal years 2021-22, 2023-24, and 2024-25.

PMJVK projects have been completed in Punjab since the scheme's inception, out of 8,59,972 nationwide.

Independent evaluations by IIPA and DMEO, NITI Aayog identified areas for improvement in awareness, fund flow, monitoring, and maintenance.
