HC backs sacking of RPF constable accused of molesting a woman at Kalyan station

Bombay High Court upheld dismissal of RPF constable Rajesh Sahadeo Jangid for molesting a woman at Kalyan railway station.

The court called his conduct 'truly deplorable', noting he acted in uniform on railway property.

Jangid was dismissed in August 2018 after a viral video showed him inappropriately touching the woman.

The court rejected his argument that the contact was accidental, citing CCTV and video evidence.

The court stated absence of a complaint from the woman did not invalidate disciplinary proceedings.
