Bombay HC Seeks Centres Reply On Kunal Kamras Plea Challenging Sahyog Portal By July 29

Bombay High Court directed Centre to file reply by July 29 on Kunal Kamra's petition challenging Sahyog Portal.

Sahyog Portal is a digital system by MeitY for fast-tracking takedown requests to social media intermediaries.

Petition also challenges amendment to Rule 3(1)(d) of IT Rules 2021 requiring intermediaries to remove objectionable content.

Kamra alleges Sahyog Portal enables unilateral content takedowns without prior notice, violating free speech and natural justice.

Court posted hearing for August 14 after asking petitioners to file rejoinder by first week of August.
