27-year-old man held within hour of suffocating girlfriend in Thane hotel over affair suspicion

A 27-year-old man, Nandkishor Gadekar, was arrested within an hour of allegedly suffocating his girlfriend with a pillow in a hotel room in Thane.

The murder followed a heated argument over Gadekar's suspicion that the woman was having an affair with another man.

The woman was married but lived separately from her husband; she had been in a relationship with Gadekar for about five years after meeting on social media.

The incident occurred at Maharaja Hotel in Jambli Naka, Thane, where the couple checked in around 3pm on Tuesday.

Gadekar was traced and arrested while roaming near Masunda Lake (Talao Pali) on Wednesday night after police analyzed CCTV footage and technical inputs.
