Fadnavis orders anti-drug lessons in Maharashtra school curriculum

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis ordered the integration of drug de-addiction lessons into the state's school curriculum.

The state government will set up anti-drug guidance and counselling committees in schools and launch a "Drug-Free School" campaign.

Fadnavis directed stringent measures to strengthen school safety and prevent cyber fraud and drug abuse among students.

Teaching Marathi and conducting exams in it is now compulsory in all SSC, CBSE, ICSE, and IB board schools across Maharashtra.

Maharashtra ranked second in the national Performance Grading Index 2.0 for school education, with 108,065 schools and 22,048,443 students.
