Punjab: Day-long strike by Aam Aadmi Clinic staff cripples primary care

Aam Aadmi Clinic contractual employees held a day-long strike, disrupting primary care at over 1,000 clinics in Punjab.

The strike affected routine outpatient services, including free lab tests, screenings, and medicine distribution, inconveniencing lakhs of patients.

Staff under Aam Aadmi Clinic Sanjha Front demanded regularization into health department, casual leave, medical leave, and recognition of experience for government posts.

The strike was temporarily called off for two weeks after a meeting with National Health Mission officials.

Pharmacist Vishal Kumar said workers were placed on an empanelment model instead of regular posts despite standard selection procedures.
