Malcolm-Jamal Warner's widow sues his mother for $1.2 million

Tenisha Warner filed a lawsuit against Pamela Warner, the mother and trustee of the Warner Family Trust, on July 20, 2026, one year after Malcolm-Jamal Warner's death.

The lawsuit alleges Malcolm-Jamal Warner failed to fulfill financial commitments from a May 2022 prenuptial agreement, including a $1 million life insurance policy with Tenisha as beneficiary.

Tenisha seeks over $1.2 million from the trust, covering unpaid life insurance, anniversary payments, Roth IRA contributions, and salary as his chief of staff.

The suit claims the estate lacks sufficient assets, prompting recovery from the family trust managed by Pamela Warner.
