Gurugram apartment owners seek dedicated registrar for societies, law reforms

The Federation of Apartment Owners Associations (FAOA), Gurugram, demanded a dedicated district registrar for apartment associations.

FAOA sought amendments to the Haryana Registration and Regulation of Societies (HRRS) Act, including automatic membership and the 'One Society, One RWA' principle.

The federation called for stronger enforcement of the Haryana Apartment Ownership Act (HAOA), 1983.

Legal expert Sanjay Lal noted Haryana lacks a deemed conveyance mechanism like Maharashtra's, leading to builder disputes.

Over 40 apartment associations supported the demands at a session in Gurugram.
