WNBA suspends Storm co-owner Celeste Keaton

WNBA fined Seattle Storm co-owner Celeste Keaton and suspended her from the team's next five home games after a confrontation with two teenage fans during Tuesday's game against the Indiana Fever.
The incident occurred during a politically charged evening, with a protest outside Climate Pledge Arena supporting Fever guard Sophie Cunningham and Washington ballot initiative IL26-638, which seeks to prohibit transgender students from competing in girls' sports.
Storm fans booed Cunningham when she entered the game and during her free throws; the altercation involving Keaton took place against this backdrop.
The Storm initially did not identify Keaton but confirmed on Thursday that it respected the league's decision.
The team stated, 'We remain committed to creating a welcoming and respectful environment for anyone who attends a Storm game.'
