Stone trader Tullu Mondal's house sealed as Bengal police intensify probe into Birbhum cash haul

West Bengal Police sealed the residence of absconding Birbhum stone trader Tullu Mondal at Subhaspally in Suri after searches.

Searches at Tullu Mondal's house recovered a few lakh rupees in cash, around 250 grams of gold, 900 grams of silver, and incriminating documents.

The investigation follows the arrest of Tullu Mondal's brother-in-law and manager Minar Mondal, from whose house police recovered ₹28.5 crore in cash and 15 kg of gold.

The recovered gold from Minar Mondal included 14 gold bars of 1 kg each and 10 gold biscuits of 100 grams each, valued at around ₹21.5 crore.

Police allege Tullu Mondal amassed assets by evading government revenue and are probing illegal land grabbing, extortion, and irregularities in stone and sand mining.
