Gurugram restaurateur’s friend held for plotting murder in Ghaziabad

Amit Saini, a 35-year-old restaurateur from Gurugram, was shot dead on Kanawani Pushta Road in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad.

Saini's childhood friend was arrested for allegedly plotting the murder; the friend initially claimed bike-borne attackers killed Saini.

CCTV footage showed Saini, his friend, and two accomplices arriving in a Grand Vitara; the accomplices shot him, then the friend called police with a false story.

Police suspect the motive was a restaurant dispute: the friend had been evicted by the landlord and feared Saini would take over the business.
