Dharmendra Pradhan was born on June 26, 1969 in Talcher, Odisha to Devendra Pradhan, a former Union Minister.
He holds a Master's degree in Anthropology from Utkal University and began his political career with ABVP in 1983.
He served as Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas, Steel, and Education; from July 2021 he was Union Minister of Education and Skill Development.
As Petroleum Minister, he gained national recognition for implementing the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY).
