Suriya broke silence on the last-minute delay of his film 'Karuppu' and thanked wife Jyotika for support during the financial burden.
Karuppu was initially set for a May 14 release, but its morning shows were cancelled due to unforeseen financial reasons; it was released a day later.
The delay was reportedly due to unpaid dues of ₹10 crore, which led to distributors withholding the KDM (Key Delivery Message), preventing screening.
The production house, Dream Warrior Pictures, reportedly owes ₹50 crore to multiple parties, including EVP Studios where the film was partially shot.
Suriya said the last-minute financial strain forced him to take extra loans, and Jyotika trusted his risk-taking for the film.
