Chandigarh admn plans underpass to connect PU’s North & South campuses

The Chandigarh administration plans an underpass to connect Panjab University's North campus in Sector 14 and South Campus in Sector 25, separated by a busy arterial road.

The underpass will be a two-way corridor with dedicated footpaths for pedestrians and cyclists, located near the varsity's Gate No 3.

The alignment for the underpass has been finalized and a ground survey is underway.

A dedicated library-cum-reading hall and a 'Students Activity Centre' are proposed for the South campus, addressing long-pending demands.

The underpass aims to ease daily movement for about 16,000 students between the two campuses, which house 78 teaching and research departments.
