Thane Sessions Court convicted 50-year-old Nunahar Kamal Shaikh for illegal entry and stay in India without valid documents.

She was sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for 6 months and 27 days, with set-off for time already served from September 2018 to March 2019.

The court ordered her deportation to Bangladesh after completion of sentence, directing the Thane Police Commissioner to ensure compliance.

She was acquitted under Section 14A of the Foreigners Act because the prosecution failed to prove the area was a notified protected or restricted area.
