Dhanush breaks silence over criticism for his National Awards for Raayan, Captain Miller: ‘Agree there are better films’

Dhanush received a special mention as Best Actor for Captain Miller and Best Tamil Film as director for Raayan at the National Film Awards.

Dhanush acknowledged that better Tamil films than Raayan were released in 2024 and respected fans of those films.

He listed previous films like Adhu Oru Kana Kaalam, Pudhupettai, 3, Mayakkam Enna, Vada Chennai, Karnan, Maryan, and Raanjhanaa that he felt deserved awards but did not win.

Dhanush urged critics to celebrate a Tamilian winning two National Awards in the same year, citing genuine effort behind Raayan.

He referenced Ajith Kumar's dialogue and added, 'If you're bad, I'm your dad,' while defending his wins.
