Armed robbers break into Lko grocer’s house, attack three members of family

Armed robbers broke into grocery shop owner Umesh Chandra's house in Indira Nagar, Lucknow, around 2 am on July 26, 2026.

Three family members were attacked with sharp-edged weapons: Umesh's daughter Seema, Umesh himself, and his wife Shanti Devi.

The robbers were attempting to break open a locker when Seema alerted them, leading to the attacks; Umesh was struck on the head repeatedly.

Shanti Devi regained consciousness, fled for help, and neighbours alerted police; the injured were admitted to a private hospital.

Police are scanning CCTV footage; Sub-inspector Nagendra Kumar and constable Divya were suspended for laxity.
