Western Railway Appoints Nodal Officers At Mumbai Division Stations To Tackle Stray Dog Menace

Western Railway has appointed Station Superintendents and Station Masters (In-charge) as Nodal Officers at all Mumbai Division stations to tackle the stray dog menace.

The appointment follows directions from the Supreme Court, Railway Board, and Western Railway headquarters, focusing on preventing stray dog incidents.

Nodal Officers will coordinate with municipal authorities to remove and manage stray dogs, conduct inspections, and prevent dogs from entering station premises.

Officers must maintain records and submit compliance reports to the Divisional Office, and their contact details will be displayed at station entrances for passenger reporting.

The move aims to improve passenger safety and coordination with civic agencies, addressing safety risks on platforms and circulating areas.
