Ludhiana: Court convicts 9 accused, awards relief to slain officers’ kin

Ludhiana additional sessions judge Saru Mehta Kaushik convicted Baljinder Singh alias Babbi and Darshan for murder and other charges for the 2021 Jagraon grain market shootout that killed two police officers.

Bharat Kumar was convicted for harbouring and assisting the accused after the crime.

Satpal Kaur, Gagandeep Singh alias Nanna, Jaspreet Singh, Gurpreet Singh alias Lucky, and Nanak Chand were convicted for possessing illegal arms and ammunition without licences.

All accused were acquitted of criminal conspiracy charges; Lucky Rajput was acquitted of all charges.

The court ordered compensation to the slain officers' families, including fines and additional state government compensation.
